Louis Vorster is a South African documentary and portrait photographer – based in the Western Cape, who uses his camera to photograph the people and landscapes of suburban and rural South African communities. He is best known for his portraits, social & fashion photo essays and alternative landscape photography.
After receiving his National Diploma (Industrial Design) in Johannesburg in 1996, Louis moved to Cape Town where he received a Higher Diploma (Industrial Design) the following year. He discovered photography while teaching multi media design at the Vaal University of Technology in 2000, since then his photographs have appeared in exhibition settings, advertising media, books, and numerous local & international editorial publications.
